Namaste!

Hello! This blogging experience has inspired me to dig up some old pictures from my travels that I would love to share with the group! Something I especially want to share is my trip two years ago with BU for the "Doing Business In and With India" course. If anyone was thinking about participating in this trip and class in the future I would highly recommend it and hope these pictures show how amazing of an experience it was!
Shopping around Bangalore
A cow just hanging out, very typical and hard to get used to!
Shopping at an open street side market in Bangalore
One of my favorite shots of a woman selling vegetables in the same market
Cow walking down the street among the people and vehicles
Some friends we made at the market who loved having their picture taken
Extremely ironic picture of cows standing underneath the McDonald's arches! Though there was no beef at their MickyD's!
The trip took place at two different campuses of Infosys Technologies Limited, the first being the Bangalore campus where we had a great workshops with presentations from Infosys' top executives!
The group!
One of the many beautiful buildings on the Bangalore Campus
More of the Bangalore campus and buildings
The boardroom where our class was held
The next pictures are a few from the Mysore campus of Infosys. This was a huge and beautiful campus where all of the training of new employees took place. It was fascinating to hear and see all they did for their employees since they spend their first 6 months here!
I felt like I was in Epcot in Disney!
Very unique architecture at the Mysore campus
Great shot to see the modern buildings
And in the middle of the campus is this huge more ancient inspired building
Huge and beautifully build! And this was an area where classes were help for new employees!
Loved how new and old architecture came together so often on this campus, really spoke to the Infosys message!
Another great aspect of the trip is that BU had us take advantage of where we were and not just sit in a classroom the entire time, but also go out and experience India and it's history.
These women posed for us in their beautiful Saris on our way to the Temple at Chamundi Hill
Temple at Chamundi Hill!
Close up of all the art on the top
Huge shrine and bull on our way down from the temple
Entrance way to the Mysore Palace!
Mysore Palace and grounds
Tippu Sultan's Summer Palace (I wish we were allowed to take pictures inside because it was all beautiful paintings that were being restored and repaired)
Front entrance to Tippu Sultan's Summer Palace
I will add more picture from this and other travels but these are some of my favorites that I pulled out for now! I took a ton since it was such a great trip so I hope you all enjoy and if anyone else went on it the year after I would love to see pictures as well!

Don't be Crabby!

Hello Everyone! So to spice up the blog and fulfill some more assignment requirements I would love to dive a little more into my life! Here are pictures of all the crabbies! I had a hermit crab when I was very little and they are cute, low maintenance and a good pet to have with my busy schedule! Also they are perfect since I cannot have any large or furry pets in my apartment! Even though they are called hermit crabs, they don't live up to their hermit name and love company so I thought a little family of 4 would be perfect! Big Dude and Little Dude came first; I had a really hard time thinking of names for them for some reason so I started calling them that in the mean time and it just stuck! I use BD and LD for short :)
Big Dude
Little Dude
And Gucci and Versace came about 3 weeks later and survived the big New England snow storm and power outage of October during their first week with me! The inspiration for their names came from my love for shopping and fashion mostly, but also because the 2 of them switch from their weird painted shells to much more stylish ones within the first couple days I had them. They are very fashion forward!
Gucci
Versace
They switch shells around quite often as they molt, grow and just if they feel like it so I try to take pictures of them in different shells. I tend to be a little "paparazzi" with them since they are funny to watch so stay tuned for more!

Breaking in the Blog!

Hello Group! I am Bryn and I am 26 years old. Intro to E-Commerce is my 9th course towards an MS in Business Continuity, Security and Risk Management and this is my first experience with blogging! I have always read blogs but have never thought about creating one of my own. It is funny that blogging is part of this course since I have purposely distanced myself from social media/networking during my time as a grad student because it tends to be a tough distraction while I am trying to study online! I feel I will enjoy this assignment and it will be a much more creative way for us to get to know each other and experience a side of social networking that I haven't participated in yet.

I currently live in Connecticut with 4 little hermit crab roomies named Big Dude, Little Dude, Gucci and Versace. Here is a picture of Gucci since he is the least camera shy, however he no longer looks like a soccer ball (the painted shells they come in at the pet store use toxic paint so when they switch shells I steal them out and take the paint off!):

I work at a local amusement and water park as Safety, Training and Risk Manager. It is a very crazy and tiring but fun job, and I cannot complain since I get to be out in the sun all summer and go down a water slide if it is too hot out!

I did my undergrad at Roger Williams University and received a BA in Art and Architectural History. Needless to say I decided to go a very different route with my graduate degree since I felt a more business oriented background would be beneficial and I began to work in the risk management area which I have found interesting. Art has always been a passion and hobby of mine so it is still an area I would love to get back into someday.

In my free time I love to paint, bike and run. I ran my first half marathon last year and I am training for my second again this year. The picture included is a before shot; I was way too tired and terrible looking for an after shot! I love to cook (and of course eat) just about anything. I try to travel as much as I can as well though unfortunately I haven't been able to work it into my schedule in a while. Two places I would love to visit again are Italy and India which I used to influence my blog design a little. I also really enjoy sleeping but unfortunately we all know as working professionals and grad students that doesn't happen very often!

I am looking forward to the next 7 weeks and enjoying this blogging experience with everyone!
